Online travel shopping company Expedia Group Thursday launched COVID-19 Travel Advisor, an online tool that provides information about current travel restrictions to potential and existing customers across seven of the company’s brands.
Designed to help cruise lines, franchise partners and agents more easily search for, choose and distribute cruises, the new tools were launched in response to North America search data in Q4 last year, which found that there is substantial pent-up demand for cruises in 2021.
Global cruise searches spiked as much as 30% between August and September and almost 9,000 passengers booked 2021 and 2022 cruises in a recent Expedia promotion. Matthew Eichhorst, Vice President of Global Cruise at Expedia Group says these early signs of recovery are extremely encouraging.
